Blogware

I'm using Radio Userland to write this blog. At first I didn't really like it but I've just discovered the macro language and I'm beginning to figure out how flexible it is. Not bad. Need to find some decent tutorials and samples but haven't really dug that deep. Just found out how I can associate each category I've come up with into their own journal.

Essentially, "The Good Life" is aimed at friends and family while "Software" is aimed at colleagues and "Brain Noodles" is all the random bits and pieces I bump into. I'll run with it for now and come up with other catagories as I need to.

I'm seriously considering writing my own blogging client. I want something more akin to a Personal Content Management System. Organising a website based on time is fine but eventually all the things you say become a large piece of context and reference material which you want to access in other ways. For example, I expect I'll start writing reviews of things (movies, books, products, etc) and organising those reviews by time doesn't really work does it? And I also want to assemble some kind of link portal. And I want to be to easily check the integrity of all my external links. So far all the blog clients seem much too simplistic or expose you to HTML far too much.
