Yeee Haaa! I've finally got my ADSL upgrade and am now running at 2 Mbps. Browsing is all a bit more snappier.
I did have a few hiccups along the way. In fact, I lost my ADSL connection entirely for a day but that seemed to be a problem with the local exchange. While diagnosing that, I discovered our house had some bad phone wiring. Two phone extensions were wired before the master socket rather than after it. I fixed that. After getting my connection back, I found I the speed was throttled by Plus.net but they fixed that after I raised a support call.
But that's all done and I can power surf! Best of all, the upgrade actually reduced my ADSL monthly cost.
